Pre-Filing Credit Counseling Course
Subject to certain limited exceptions, you must complete a credit counseling course and receive credit counseling certificate (before bankruptcy) or financial education certificate (after bankruptcy) and obtain a credit counseling certificate in the 180 days preceding the filing of a bankruptcy case. Our office will not file your bankruptcy case if you have not completed the pre-filing credit counseling, and if you have not provided the credit counseling certificate to our office. Our office recommends Hummingbird Credit Counseling.
